1991 Porsche 964 Carrera RS

The Porsche 964 Carrera RS Lightweight embodies the very essence of Porsche’s classic motorsport philosophy: uncompromising weight reduction, exceptional driver feedback, and pure driving dynamics.

Developed as a road-going homologation model, the Carrera RS deliberately sacrificed comfort in favour of performance. Reduced sound insulation, a simplified interior, and a significantly more focused setup resulted in a driving experience that remains among the purest ever offered in a road-going Porsche. Today, the 964 RS is widely regarded as one of the most desirable and uncompromising air-cooled 911s ever produced.

The example presented here was delivered new to Willich, Germany, on 4 November 1991 and was specified in the highly sought-after colour Rubystone Red (Sternrubin), paint code L82N.

The original German registration document (“Fahrzeugbrief”) records the car’s complete ownership history, which remains fully traceable to this day. Just three owners have been documented throughout its lifetime. Equally impressive is its meticulously maintained service record, with regular servicing consistently recorded in the original service booklet.

This careful stewardship is clearly reflected in the car’s exceptional condition. According to the current owner, the vehicle remains both accident-free and free from any paintwork repairs, preserving an outstanding level of originality.

Finding an original 964 Carrera RS in such an unmolested state, finished in Rubystone Red, with a transparent ownership history and low mileage, has become increasingly difficult. This example represents a true benchmark of Porsche’s legendary RS lineage.
