Porsche 356 Carrera 2 Cabriolet

19.Jun 2026

The top-of-the-range model within the Porsche 356 series was always the high-performance Carrera version. Between 1955 and 1964, Porsche built just 167 units of the 356 Carrera Cabriolet (A, B and C models).

From March 1955, Carrera racing engines, initially used only in Porsche racing models, were also available for road-legal production cars. In this top-spec configuration, the 1600cc engine in the T2 model produced 105 hp/77 kW with two overhead camshafts.

The 130 hp/96 kW Carrera version, which featured a 2.0-litre engine, was introduced in October 1960 alongside the launch of the Type 356 B. This exclusive and highly priced Cabriolet was only ordered by a select few wealthy customers throughout its entire production run.

The Porsche 356 C Carrera 2 Cabriolet pictured is one of just 30 ever made. Completed in November 1963, it was delivered to Heidelberg, Germany. It was ordered in the beautiful colour combination of Irish Green (code 6406) with fawn-brown leather trim.

The vehicle has been in our client’s possession for many years. In April 2017, it became part of a significant collection in Germany and was extensively restored on our behalf.

All work was carried out to the highest standard by workshops with whom we have a long-standing relationship. The restoration process was thoroughly documented with invoices and numerous photographs.

As a C2 Cabriolet, it is the rarest model in the Carrera range and highly sought after by collectors.
