This Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, order number 72161924, was produced in 1957. It was the 271st 300 SL Roadster built in the first year of production. The first owner ordered his Mercedes-Benz 300 SL in his preferred colour combination under this order number: Ivory (DB 608) paintwork with red leather upholstery (DB 1079).
The first owner was a well-known Belgian entrepreneur. The car later spent time in Nuremberg, Munich, Bad Tölz and Heidelberg. From the mid-1970s until 1981, it belonged to the famous former Bugatti racing driver Helmut Schellenberg.
From 1981 to 1989, Helmut Schellenberg kindly lent the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster to the Auto und Technik Museum Sinsheim, where it was displayed.
Between 2011 and 2014, the car underwent a detailed restoration at the request of one of our clients, with every component being meticulously inspected. For this purpose, the bodywork was separated from the chassis so that every detail of the vehicle could be perfectly restored.
Since the restoration, the car has covered 2,081 kilometres.
This is a car from our workshop, restored by us without compromise, which impresses with its perfect bodywork and sensational paint finish.
A 300 SL masterpiece!
