Our customer’s brief was to find a “healthy” 300 SL Roadster that was suitable for a full restoration. We looked around the world for an essentially untouched and accident-free example with matching numbers.
We ultimately decided on this car from the end of 1961 with a cast iron engine and factory disc brakes. The body was in perfect health and the entire car offered ideal conditions for a restoration. The work was to be carried out by our partner company Jürgen Kassen from Oerlinghausen.
We were very pleased that the new owner of the car followed our recommendation to restore the vehicle to its original state, analogous to the Mercedes-Benz data card.
The result is this beautiful Mercedes-Benz in the color combination DB 334 light blue with a dark blue interior (DB 205).
