Super original BMW 507 Roadster
The highlight of the 37th Motor Show in Frankfurt was the white BMW 507 Roadster. In September 1955, the car drawn by Albrecht Graf Goertz delighted the international trade press as much as the visitors on site in Hall 1.
"BMW builds sports cars again." was the headline of the Automobil-Revue from Bern in their article about the IAA in Frankfurt 1955.
At the start of production in early 1957, the purchase price was DM 26,500. From July 1958 the BMW 507 then cost DM 29,950. About 1,500 vehicles were planned each year with a total production period of 3 years. The idea was to be able to sell annually 850 vehicles in Germany and 650 more abroad.
The market corrected the BMW sales plan figures to only 254 units of the BMW 507 Roadster over the entire construction period from 1957 to 1959.
