This exceptional Porsche 356 A Speedster 1600 Super is among the particularly early 1957 examples of this legendary model series. It was delivered on December 6, 1957, to the renowned Porsche U.S. importer Max Hoffmann in New York, at a time when the Speedster was reaching the height of its popularity in the United States.
From the factory, this example was finished in the elegant color Ivory (paint code 5704 B) and still presents today in matching colours, which, together with its matching numbers, impressively confirms the car’s authenticity and originality.
One of its most remarkable features is its factory delivery with center-lock wheels — an extremely rare and highly sporting specification found on only a small number of Speedsters.
In combination with the more powerful 1600 Super engine and its early production period, this makes the car one of the rarest and most collectible Speedster examples in existence.
The engine and gearbox correspond to the original factory delivery specification (matching numbers), confirmed by the Reutter Certificate and the Porsche Kardex card. The original side curtains have also been preserved.
The car has remained in the same ownership for 27 years within our client circle — clear evidence of continuous careful maintenance and respectful stewardship of this important piece of automotive heritage.
