1936 Mercedes-Benz 500 K Cabriolet (W29)

13.Mar 2026

The Mercedes-Benz 500 K ranks among the most significant automobiles of the 1930s. Its supercharged eight-cylinder engine, technically sophisticated chassis, and exceptional build quality made it a true representative of automotive luxury at the highest level. The Cabriolet versions in particular were – and continue to be – especially sought after, not only for their elegant lines, but also for their rarity within the original new car program.

The vehicle offered here was delivered in 1936 as a Cabriolet B/C. In the course of its restoration, it was fitted with a Cabriolet A body, whose design is regarded as one of the most exclusive and desirable body styles of the 500 K series.

As part of an extensive and professionally executed restoration between 2009 and 2012, the car received its present configuration in keeping with the historical model. The work was carried out to a high artisanal standard by renowned specialist workshops in Germany, dedicated to pre-war Mercedes models and bespoke coachwork. The reconstruction was commissioned by a passionate Mercedes-Benz enthusiast with exacting standards of quality.
